BT3 perform @ National Guitar Museum exhibit – Liberty Science Center (NOV 15)

Jersey City, NJLiberty Science Center guests are invited to explore the history of the most enduring American icon and the science of sound in the latest traveling exhibition, Guitar: The Instrument That Rocked The World. The exhibition, on view from October 4, 2014, through January 4, 2015, features the world’s largest playable guitar, the only playable 8-neck string guitar, and valuable objects like a guitar inlaid with more than 230 pieces of gold.

“Liberty Science Center strives to deliver experiences that spark creativity and ignite imaginations. For hundreds of years, the guitar has done just that,” said Paul Hoffman, LSC President and CEO. “We’re thrilled to offer our guests the opportunity to explore the fascinating history of this iconic instrument while learning the science behind its powerful sound.”

Free live performances by rock, jazz, blues, classical, and kiddie bands will take place on stage during the showing of Guitar: The Instrument that Rocked the World on view at LSC through January 4, 2015. Ben Tyree is a performer and composer of virtuosic ability, infectious groove, and eclectic tastes. All of those elements are placed on stunning display on his latest release, Burn It! LIVE, a blistering live set from the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s prestigious BAMcafé Live series. That versatility has led to work with artists as diverse as Vernon Reid, Kyp Malone (TV On The Radio), Valerie June, Elliott Sharp, and Burnt Sugar: The Arkestra Chamber.BT3 will perform on Saturday, November 15 @ 3pm. Tyree will lead the trio in compositions from their current release, Burn It! LIVE as well as new material.

Guitar: The Instrument That Rocked The World is a touring exhibition from the National Guitar Museum created to promote and preserve the legacy of the guitar.
